Selling Gold and Silver from West Palm Beach
The furthest regular drive on this list, which makes it a trip worth planning rather than a detour.
No appointment needed. No obligation to sell.
Live metal market
This is the market your offer is calculated against — not a chart printed last week. Your items are tested and weighed at the counter, and the arithmetic is done in front of you.

- Call ahead if the lot is large so the cash is ready.
Route
The trip from West Palm Beach
Getting to us
South on I-95, roughly fifty minutes to Oakland Park or Commercial Boulevard, then east to the ocean. Outside rush hour it is a straight run; between four and six southbound it is not, and Okeechobee to I-95 adds time at both ends of the day.
What that distance means
Fifty minutes each way is the longest drive anyone regularly makes to this counter, and it is only sensible with real weight. Send photographs to info@sygusa.com before you set out and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth the trip. For a single small item it usually is not.
The local picture
Selling gold in West Palm Beach
West Palm sits at the northern end of a corridor with buying counters at intervals the whole way down — Boynton, Delray, Boca, Deerfield. A seller here has more choice than anyone in this list and less reason to travel, which is exactly why the trip only makes sense on weight. What tends to bring people this far is an estate lot rather than a single item: a full box, several generations of accumulation, or material that has already been quoted somewhere closer and the number did not sit right.
Selling part of it, and keeping the rest
Fifty minutes each way is the whole argument. Nobody makes this drive twice, so the trip has to settle everything — what is being sold, and where the rest goes. Doing both in one building is the only version of this that respects the distance. If the answer is that you sell some and keep some, the keeping does not need a second journey, a bank appointment, or a safe you have to buy and install first.
Florida Intervault is a separate company in the same building, family-run since 1983. Storing anything is entirely optional and nobody at the counter will push you toward it — you are free to sell and go home.
What West Palm Beach sellers usually bring
Gold Jewelry
Chains, rings and odd earrings tested for karat at the counter, weighed in front of you, priced on the live market.

Gold Coins & Bullion
Eagles, Maples, Krugerrands and refiner bars verified while you wait, with anything worth more than melt flagged first.
Explore →
Silver
Bars, rounds, junk coin and sterling flatware tested piece by piece, so a genuine set never leaves valued as plate.
Explore →
Estate & Inherited Metal
Bring the box unsorted. Everything is separated and valued item by item, with a written breakdown for the family.
Explore →
Dental Gold
Crowns and bridges tested for what they actually contain, palladium and silver included, with no cleaning needed first.
Explore →
Platinum & Palladium
Platinum is easily mistaken for white gold. We test for it specifically and price both metals on their own markets.

FAQ
Common questions
- Fifty minutes is a long way. Why would I not just sell locally?
- For a small lot you should. The reason people make this drive is a written offer they want beaten, or a lot large enough that the difference exceeds the fuel. Email photographs first and we will tell you which one you have before you spend the morning on it.
- Can I get a number before I drive down?
- A range, not a price. Photographs and stated weights get you close enough to decide whether the trip is worth making. A firm number needs the metal on the scale, because photographs cannot show karat and cannot show what is plate.
- How far is it from West Palm Beach?
- About 50 minutes to our Fort Lauderdale counter, traffic depending. Season adds to that on the coastal roads.
- Do I need an appointment?
- No. Walk in during business hours. If you are bringing a large estate lot, call first so we have the cash and a second tester ready.
- What do I need to bring?
- Valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law requires a dealer to record every purchase and take a copy of your ID, with no exceptions.
- Can I get a number before I drive over?
- Email photos to info@sygusa.com and we will tell you what it looks like and what the range depends on. A real figure still needs the items on the scale.
