Selling Gold and Silver from Boca Raton
Palm Beach County sellers regularly drive south rather than use a local kiosk, usually because they want the testing done in front of them.
No appointment needed. No obligation to sell.
Live metal market
This is the market your offer is calculated against — not a chart printed last week. Your items are tested and weighed at the counter, and the arithmetic is done in front of you.

Before you leave the house
- Bring valid photo ID. There are no exceptions to this.
- Do not sort or clean anything. Tarnish does not change the metal.
- Bring the whole box, including what you assume is junk.
- Call ahead if the lot is large so the cash is ready.
Route
The trip from Boca Raton
Getting to us
South on I-95 to Commercial or Oakland Park Boulevard, then east. Around thirty minutes without traffic, and Glades Road to I-95 is the usual start. Palm Beach County plates are common at the counter; the county line makes no difference to anything.
What that distance means
A half-hour drive each way makes one thorough trip the sensible approach. Bring everything, including broken and single earrings — weight is weight, and damaged pieces are valued on metal content rather than on condition.
The local picture
Selling gold in Boca Raton
Twenty-five minutes north on I-95, and the single busiest area page on this site. Boca is Palm Beach County, which changes nothing about a sale but does mean sellers here have a completely different set of nearby options — a dense, high-end retail jewelry trade concentrated around Mizner and the Glades Road corridor. Those are good businesses, and for selling a signed designer piece intact they will frequently beat us. Where they are not the right answer is scrap and mixed lots, which they buy occasionally rather than daily.
Selling part of it, and keeping the rest
The thing a Boca seller cannot get from a local counter is the option to not sell all of it. Our building on the Galt Ocean Mile also houses Florida Intervault, a private 9R-rated vault run by the same family since 1983. That matters on an estate lot, where the usual outcome is that some of it should be sold now and some of it should not — a few pieces held for a grandchild, a coin collection nobody has valued yet, documents that should not be in a house. You can settle the sale and place the remainder into storage in one visit, in the same building, without the metal going back in a car for a second thirty-minute drive.
Florida Intervault is a separate company in the same building, family-run since 1983. Storing anything is entirely optional and nobody at the counter will push you toward it — you are free to sell and go home.
What Boca Raton sellers usually bring
Gold Jewelry
Chains, rings and odd earrings tested for karat at the counter, weighed in front of you, priced on the live market.

Gold Coins & Bullion
Eagles, Maples, Krugerrands and refiner bars verified while you wait, with anything worth more than melt flagged first.
Explore →
Silver
Bars, rounds, junk coin and sterling flatware tested piece by piece, so a genuine set never leaves valued as plate.
Explore →
Estate & Inherited Metal
Bring the box unsorted. Everything is separated and valued item by item, with a written breakdown for the family.
Explore →
Dental Gold
Crowns and bridges tested for what they actually contain, palladium and silver included, with no cleaning needed first.
Explore →
Platinum & Palladium
Platinum is easily mistaken for white gold. We test for it specifically and price both metals on their own markets.

FAQ
Common questions
- Can I sell part of a collection and keep the rest somewhere secure?
- Yes, and it is the common outcome on an estate lot. We buy what you decide to sell. Florida Intervault, in the same building, stores what you decide to keep — it is a separate company, and you are free to store nothing at all. The point is that one trip from Boca can settle both instead of two.
- I have a designer piece. Should I sell it to you or to a jeweler?
- If it is signed, in good condition, and desirable intact, a retail jeweler or a consignment route will usually beat a metal buyer, and we will tell you so rather than buy it at scrap. Where we are the better answer is broken, unfashionable, unsigned or mixed material — the things a retail shop does not want to display.
- Is the drive from Boca worth it?
- For a single small item, no. For an estate lot or anything with real weight, the difference between a daily metal buyer and an occasional one is usually larger than the fuel. Email photos to info@sygusa.com and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth your time before you get in the car.
- How far is it from Boca Raton?
- About 30 minutes to our Fort Lauderdale counter, traffic depending. Season adds to that on the coastal roads.
- Do I need an appointment?
- No. Walk in during business hours. If you are bringing a large estate lot, call first so we have the cash and a second tester ready.
- What do I need to bring?
- Valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law requires a dealer to record every purchase and take a copy of your ID, with no exceptions.
- Can I get a number before I drive over?
- Email photos to info@sygusa.com and we will tell you what it looks like and what the range depends on. A real figure still needs the items on the scale.
