Selling Gold and Silver from Jupiter

The only area on this list outside the fifty-mile radius we work to, and an hour and five minutes each way. It is here because sellers from Jupiter make the trip anyway, and there is exactly one reason that is rational: any written offer gets beaten.

No appointment needed. No obligation to sell.

This is the market your offer is calculated against — not a chart printed last week. Your items are tested and weighed at the counter, and the arithmetic is done in front of you.

Before you leave the house

  • Bring valid photo ID. There are no exceptions to this.
  • Do not sort or clean anything. Tarnish does not change the metal.
  • Bring the whole box, including what you assume is junk.
  • Call ahead if the lot is large so the cash is ready.

Route

The trip from Jupiter

Getting to us

South on I-95 from Indiantown Road or Donald Ross Road, most of an hour and a quarter to Commercial Boulevard, then the last stretch east to the beach. It is the interstate almost the whole way and the slow section is in the middle, through the Palm Beach and Boca stretch, rather than at either end. The Turnpike from Indiantown Road costs a toll and avoids that middle.

What that distance means

Sixty-five minutes each way is a genuine half day, so do not begin it blind. Email photographs to info@sygusa.com with the marks visible and a rough weight if you own a kitchen scale, and we will tell you plainly whether the drive earns itself. If you hold a written offer from anywhere closer, say so in the same email. That is the version of this trip that always makes sense.

The local picture

Selling gold in Jupiter

An hour and five minutes south to the counter, and Jupiter is the only area here sitting outside the fifty-mile radius we work to. It is on the list for one reason, which is that people from Jupiter make this drive anyway. What they do not have locally is a dealer whose business is buying metal. Indiantown Road and the Harbourside area are plaza and waterfront retail, and the nearest serious concentrations of gold buying are south through Palm Beach into Miami-Dade, or north in Stuart, which is a trip of its own. So a Jupiter seller has the western Broward problem with more miles attached: getting a second figure is a project rather than an errand, and first figures become final ones by default. There is one clean way around that. Get quoted anywhere you like, in Stuart, in the Gardens, at a shop on Indiantown Road, and get it in writing. We will beat it. That is not a promotion with conditions printed underneath it, and it is the whole reason an hour each way can be a rational use of a morning rather than a gamble.

Selling part of it, and keeping the rest

At this distance the trip has to do more than one job. On an estate lot, selling the whole thing is seldom the right call: some is scrap, some is a piece somebody in the family will want in ten years, and the second category has nowhere sensible to live once the first is gone. Florida Intervault, family-run since 1983 and in the same building as our counter, keeps a 9R-rated private vault. Sell what should be sold, place what should not, and drive home once.

Florida Intervault is a separate company in the same building, family-run since 1983. Storing anything is entirely optional and nobody at the counter will push you toward it — you are free to sell and go home.

FAQ

Common questions

You are an hour away and out of my county. Why would I not just use Stuart?
You might, and it is a shorter drive, so get a figure there and get it in writing. The reason to keep going south is that we will beat that written offer, with nothing attached to it. If we cannot, you have lost the time and you still hold the Stuart number.
Can you give me a firm price by email so the drive is not wasted?
A range, not a price. Photographs and a stated weight get close enough to decide with, but karat has to be tested and plate cannot be seen in a photograph. Any buyer who promises a firm figure from a picture is either guessing or intends to change the number once you are standing there.
How far is it from Jupiter?
About 65 minutes to our Fort Lauderdale counter, traffic depending. Season adds to that on the coastal roads.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during business hours. If you are bringing a large estate lot, call first so we have the cash and a second tester ready.
What do I need to bring?
Valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law requires a dealer to record every purchase and take a copy of your ID, with no exceptions.
Can I get a number before I drive over?
Email photos to info@sygusa.com and we will tell you what it looks like and what the range depends on. A real figure still needs the items on the scale.
