Route
The trip from Sunrise
Getting to us
East on Oakland Park Boulevard or Commercial Boulevard, about twenty-six minutes from most of the city. Commercial is usually the quicker of the two once you are east of the Turnpike.
What that distance means
Far enough that one organized trip beats two. Gather everything gold-colored, including pieces you assume are costume — assumption is the most common reason something valuable stays in a drawer, and testing settles it in seconds.
The local picture
Selling gold in Sunrise
About twenty-four minutes east, and one of the larger western cities with correspondingly little dedicated metal buying — the options around Sawgrass and the retail corridors are chain jewelry and pawn rather than bullion dealers. Sunrise sellers frequently tell us they assumed there was nowhere serious to sell to, and dealt with a kiosk on that basis. The distance east is real, but it is one trip, and for anything with weight it is usually the difference between a retail-margin offer and a wholesale-margin one.
Selling part of it, and keeping the rest
We ask Sunrise sellers to call ahead when the lot is large, and a large lot is exactly the one where selling all of it is rarely the right answer. Some of it is scrap, some of it somebody in the family will want, and the second category has no obvious home once the first is sold. The vault in the same building means the split can happen in one visit — the part you are selling goes on the scale, the part you are not goes into storage rather than back into the car.
Florida Intervault is a separate company in the same building, family-run since 1983. Storing anything is entirely optional and nobody at the counter will push you toward it — you are free to sell and go home.
What Sunrise sellers usually bring

Gold Coins & Bullion
Eagles, Maples, Krugerrands and refiner bars verified while you wait, with anything worth more than melt flagged first.
Explore →
Silver
Bars, rounds, junk coin and sterling flatware tested piece by piece, so a genuine set never leaves valued as plate.
Explore →
Estate & Inherited Metal
Bring the box unsorted. Everything is separated and valued item by item, with a written breakdown for the family.
Explore →
Dental Gold
Crowns and bridges tested for what they actually contain, palladium and silver included, with no cleaning needed first.

Platinum & Palladium
Platinum is easily mistaken for white gold. We test for it specifically and price both metals on their own markets.

FAQ
Common questions
- Is there anywhere in Sunrise that buys gold properly?
- We would not claim to have surveyed every business in the city, so we will put it carefully: western Broward has very few dealers whose primary business is buying metal, and that is the distinction that affects your offer. Ask any buyer how often they buy gold. The answer tells you which model you are dealing with.
- What do I need to bring?
- Valid government-issued photo identification — Florida law requires a dealer to record it on every purchase, with no exceptions. Bring the pieces unsorted and unpolished, and bring anything you are unsure about. Testing and sorting are free whether or not you sell.
- How far is it from Sunrise?
- About 26 minutes to our Fort Lauderdale counter, traffic depending. Season adds to that on the coastal roads.
- Do I need an appointment?
- No. Walk in during business hours. If you are bringing a large estate lot, call first so we have the cash and a second tester ready.
- What do I need to bring?
- Valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law requires a dealer to record every purchase and take a copy of your ID, with no exceptions.
- Can I get a number before I drive over?
- Email photos to info@sygusa.com and we will tell you what it looks like and what the range depends on. A real figure still needs the items on the scale.
