Selling Gold and Silver from Hollywood
Twenty-five minutes north on I-95 or Federal. Hollywood had our second counter until it closed, so sellers here now make the trip to the Galt Ocean Mile — still the shortest run to a dealer who buys metal every day rather than as a sideline.
No appointment needed. No obligation to sell.
Live metal market
This is the market your offer is calculated against — not a chart printed last week. Your items are tested and weighed at the counter, and the arithmetic is done in front of you.

Before you leave the house
- Bring valid photo ID. There are no exceptions to this.
- Do not sort or clean anything. Tarnish does not change the metal.
- Bring the whole box, including what you assume is junk.
- Call ahead if the lot is large so the cash is ready.
Route
The trip from Hollywood
Getting to us
North on I-95 to Oakland Park and east, or Federal Highway the whole way if the interstate is heavy. Around twenty-five minutes. The US-1 and Hollywood Boulevard corridors you pass on the way out carry a long run of pawn and quick-cash storefronts — worth getting a figure from one before you drive up, so you have something to compare.
What that distance means
Since the counter here closed there is no longer a local option, so the useful first step is a phone call or an email rather than a journey. Describe roughly what you have, or send photos to info@sygusa.com, and we will tell you honestly whether the drive up is worth making. For a single light piece it often is not, and we would rather say so than have you spend an hour finding out.
The local picture
Selling gold in Hollywood
The counter that used to serve this end of the county has closed, so Hollywood sellers now have the local market to themselves — and it is one of the most competitive retail gold-buying stretches in Broward. The US-1 and Hollywood Boulevard corridors carry a long run of pawn, jewelry and cash-for-gold storefronts. You are not short of offers here. What you are short of is a way to compare them, because most arrive as a single number with no working shown. Ask any of them for the tested purity, the weight and the price per gram before you accept anything — those three numbers are the whole conversation, and they are the same three we will show you.
What Hollywood sellers usually bring
Gold Jewelry
Chains, rings and odd earrings tested for karat at the counter, weighed in front of you, priced on the live market.

Gold Coins & Bullion
Eagles, Maples, Krugerrands and refiner bars verified while you wait, with anything worth more than melt flagged first.
Explore →
Silver
Bars, rounds, junk coin and sterling flatware tested piece by piece, so a genuine set never leaves valued as plate.
Explore →
Estate & Inherited Metal
Bring the box unsorted. Everything is separated and valued item by item, with a written breakdown for the family.
Explore →
Dental Gold
Crowns and bridges tested for what they actually contain, palladium and silver included, with no cleaning needed first.
Explore →
Platinum & Palladium
Platinum is easily mistaken for white gold. We test for it specifically and price both metals on their own markets.

FAQ
Common questions
- There are a dozen buyers near me. What should I be asking them?
- Three questions, and they work on any buyer including us. What purity did you test it at? What does it weigh? What price per gram are you paying? A buyer who will not give you all three is telling you something. With those numbers you can check the arithmetic yourself on your phone.
- Do you pay more than the shops on US-1?
- Often, but not always, and it depends entirely on what you have. We would rather you got a figure there first and brought it to us than took our word for it. If theirs is better on the day, take it — that is a fair outcome and we would rather you left with the better number.
- How far is it from Hollywood?
- About 25 minutes to our Fort Lauderdale counter, traffic depending. Season adds to that on the coastal roads.
- Do I need an appointment?
- No. Walk in during business hours. If you are bringing a large estate lot, call first so we have the cash and a second tester ready.
- What do I need to bring?
- Valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law requires a dealer to record every purchase and take a copy of your ID, with no exceptions.
- Can I get a number before I drive over?
- Email photos to info@sygusa.com and we will tell you what it looks like and what the range depends on. A real figure still needs the items on the scale.

Thirty minutes north up I-95 or Federal. Dense condominium population with a lot of relocation and downsizing sales, and a strongly seasonal one — a building full in February is half empty in August.
